  The 2005 enthusiast of the year

Every year, the Norwegian aviation museum gives out the prize, the year’s enthusiast. This title is given to a person, who has contributed to preserve and maintain aviation history for the future.

The prize for 2005 was given to Per Hoff; one of Norway’s most well known model aircraft builders.


Per Hoff can look back on a very active life as a model builder. He has for 25 years, served on the board of the Norwegian aviation club, on numerous comities and such like. In his active model career, he has won 27 first prizes from model aircraft competitions. He has 5 Norwegian records and has won the Norwegian championships, 3 times. He has competed in 103 model aircraft competitions and built 251 model aircraft. He is honorary member of the Oslo and Tønsberg model aircraft clubs and Jarlsberg out door activity club. He has the silver medal from the NAK( Norwegian Aviation club) and has previously  been honoured by the  FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) and now  it the turn of the Norwegian Aviation Museum, to honour him

Per Hoff – Diaries 193
3 -2004: Norway’s “Grand Old Man” of Model aircraft.


In 2006, Per Hoff can look back at over 73 years of model building. During these years, he has kept detailed diaries of his work and designs. A number of these diaries, which include notes, designs, results from competitions and pictures, are to found on a new CD, which can be purchased at the Norwegian Aviation Museum.
